HidroCrate
45T · 60T · Underground PP modules · 95% void ratio
The HidroCrate is an underground polypropylene crate for Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). Measuring 1×0,5×0,5 m with a 95% void ratio, each crate stores 237,5 litres of water. The crates interlock to build underground basins of any size — for stormwater infiltration, retention or storage.
What the HidroCrate is
The HidroCrate is an underground polypropylene module for Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS). Measuring 1×0,5×0,5 metres with a void ratio of 95%, each module stores 237,5 litres of water. The modules slot together to create underground basins of any size, matched to the project's flow and volume.
Returns water to the ground naturally, reducing peak flow and recharging the water table.
Delays the flood peak, relieving the storm drainage network during heavy rainfall events.
Stores stormwater for later reuse in irrigating green spaces, washing and other uses.
45T or 60T — which to choose?
Both models have the same dimensions and the same volume per module (0,25 m³). The difference is structural strength, which determines the minimum cover depth and the type of traffic allowed.
| Property | HidroCrate 45T | HidroCrate 60T |
|---|---|---|
| Max. vertical load | 45T / 450 kN/m² | 60T / 600 kN/m² |
| Lateral loads | 10T / 100 kN/m² | 15T / 150 kN/m² |
| Weight per m³ | 38,4 kg | 47,2 kg |
| Typical application | Urban and residential areas | Industrial zones and heavy traffic |
| Reference | HS-20 | HS-25 |
Both measure 1000 × 500 × 500 mm, with a net volume of 0,2375 m³, a void ratio of 95% and a service life of over 50 years. Minimum cover for pedestrians: 300 mm.
